Red Rocks has an unmistakable red rock formation that are instantly recognisable. The basalt outcrops here are red, having been altered from the usual black colour by the oxidation of the iron in the minerals in the rock. These unique rocks look spectacular on sunset as the light rays reflect on the rocks surface make everything pop. The summer sunsets here are particularly special as the sun sets directly over the largest rock.
